Copas De Mescal - one of the very first recording ever made by Chano Cadena y su Conjunto-recorded in the late 1950's. From an extremely rare 45" disc provided to me by my uncle Ernesto Cadena. His collection of Conjunto Records,Recordings, Stories and Clippings is incredible. He is by far the most knowledgable historian of South Texas conjunto in this area that I know of.

Que Poca Cosa - another early recording, from the late 1950's or early 1960's. most likely recorded with Armando Marroquin's Ideal Records in Alice, TX.

Aunque Tengas Razon - bolero instrumental, recorded live in 2005 at the Pan Am Center, San Antonio, TX

Por Ultima Vez - previous unreleased song from a studio session recorded in 2003

Guapango - Chano Cadena y su Conjunto- May 2004, San Antonio Conjunto Festival, Rosedale Park. Chano celebrates 50 years of conjunto music with an appearance at the Conjunto Festival sponsored by the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center (8MB file)

Polka at the Camaroncito - Chano Cadena y su Conjunto - Jan., 28, 2001, El Camaroncito hall, San Antonio, TX. Although the audio from the video camera is not the best, it does however, capture the conjunto in the groove. Featured in this video is Luis Flores, brother to Amadeo Flores playing a Macias Bajo Sexto. Incidently, Luis tells us that his original Macias bajo was damaged by a member of Los Tigres Del Norte at a mutual gig in California in the early 1970s. Los Tigres had another bajo made for Luis by Macias to replace the damaged one. You can definitely hear that Macias tone in the video clip. Here is an MP3 audio rip of the video. Polka-Camaron Again, you can hear that distinct Macias tone and a clue as to why a Macias Bajo Sexto is called the Stradivarius of the bajo sexto.
